It is capable of receiving wireless Polar 810i heart rate monitor signals, has a tread length of 44 inches, has a tread width of 17 inches, weighs 350 lbs, and was modified by the manufacturer to have aluminum slats. The T2 is based on a commercial treadmill designed by Woodway (Waukesha, WI). The flight version will have the rails and control panel customized for use on the ISS. The current prototype has the rails removed and operates via a custom-made interface PC board and workstation.
