The TVIS calibration card is an 8.5’ x 11’ piece of paper with six targets printed on it. The card allows the investigators to change a distance in a picture from pixels to centimeters. It also corrects for a camera placement that may not be directly to the side of the subject where distortion and foreshortening occur. Prior to data collection, the crewmember holds the card in the approximate location of the right leg for a few seconds. As long as the camera isn’t moved, investigators can use the small portion of the video with the calibration card to calibrate distances for the rest of the trial.
